Gender Spectrum Workshop

"As long as she thinks of a man, nobody objects to a woman thinking." these lines by Virginia Woolf reiterate the fact that every line of thought in our minds is embedded within the framework of gender . After ages of human civilization, it is sad to see gender still being reinstated under the binary lenses as male versus female or masculine versus feminine .To comprehend gender is to understand its plurality which is the why 'Bricolage' the English Literary Society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College invites you to an enlightening workshop by eminent faculties from Indira Gandhi national university. Prof Himadri Roy has been teaching queer studies for more than decade in the School of Gender and Development Studies of Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He has also taught English Literature at the University of Delhi before joining Indira Gandhi National Open University. He has published books on sexuality and cinema , one of them being Reel and the Real: Portrayal of Gay Men in Bollywood Cinema (2020). He has contributed many articles in international and national journals on queer studies, sexuality and cinema, sexuality and literature and feminisma and Literature. He is also a novelist and his recent novel Tales of Hope Chasers has been acclaimed as a 'must-read' by the Times of India.
